Lemon Bread        from the kitchen of: Aileen Drosendahl

 

 

      350degrees        60 minutes

 

Beat together      1 cup sugar
                            6 TBSP melted Butter

 
Beat in one at a time
                            2 eggs
Mix together 1/2 tsp salt
                    1 1/2 cups flour
                    1 tsp baking powder

 
Add alternately with
 
                    1/2 cup milk

 
Stir in           1/2 cup chopped walnuts
                    grated rind of 1 lemon

 
Using a 4 by 8 inch loaf pan that has been greased, bake for about 1 hour. at 350.  I check it after 55 minutes.

 
Make a glaze  of 1/3 cup sugar
 
                            juice of 1 lemon

 
Pour glaze over bread when it is hot.
