More vintage appliances!

Published by Leave a comment

I’ve got some more vintage appliances! Last night I visited Lisa & Ken Whyte at their farm where they had been saving some appliances for me.  I finally got to bring them home!

This first one was actually my parent’s washing machine they had in the 90s. They gave it away in 2003. I’ll have to repair the agitator as it was parted out for the other washing machine (below). Although it won’t be anytime soon (it’s stored in a house I own that currently has no utilities working) It will be fun to put this thing into use again. I remember falling asleep to the sound of it washing when I was very little. It is a Kenmore 80 series. The date code translated to March 1993.

This next one was the Whyte’s washing machine, similar to the one that belonged to my parents, but a little older. It is a Kenmore 70 series. The date code translated to December 1987. It was working before put into storage, hopefully it will just work whenever I am able to plug it in.

While not vintage, they also gave me this electric stove which I plan to use in my kitchen someday. No electricity so I can’t plug it in now, but it worked last time it was plugged in. I guess I’ll find out eventually!
